Thanks to the digital tablet I've been able to tidy up the original ghoul sketch pic.

Mental block

I've got a spiffy digital tablet yet I can't think of anything to draw apart from friggin' zombies or skulls...

going digital

My very first digital painting that came about after a case of serious artist's block - too many things to play with, not enough imagination when it came to drawing!

As I had been watching Land of the Dead this afternoon, I could only come up with a zombie. A very green zombie at that.

Oh well, tomorrow's another day and hopefully I'll be able to come up with something a bit better!!!

Thanks to Emps for the digital tablet. You little star you!!

doodle monsters

A page of doodle monsters from the sketchbook

taking forever

I started this over a month ago but have to keep waiting for the various layers to dry. It's oil on canvas and will have much more ornamentation on the skulls (as I mention, I have to wait for parts to dry each time I work on it).

I will get it finished one day. I'll post a scan when I do.

Ghoul sketch

I know this is grim, not sure where it came from to be honest. I may clean this up and use the ghoul in something else:

Vamp Attack

I'm still doodling, came up with these earlier:

steampunk steamgun

I mean... wtf do I know about guns?? steampunk-style guns at that?

Oh well, I've given it a shot and this is what I've come up with!

Belle & the axe

Again, another doodle. I bought a set of fineline pens the other day and I love drawing in pen although I think sometimes I can be a bit too heavy with the lines:

Little Goth Girl

This is just a doodle, not something I would usually doodle either. While I like Blythe and Ruby Gloom etc. I don't go out of my way to do cutesy stuff. I had been drawing for my friend's daughter - when I visit I usually get ambushed by the kid to draw her princesses or mermaids, so she can colour them in. Last night, I'd made arrangements to visit today so I thought I'd pre-empt the 'kid mugging' and take some drawings for her. This came out of one sketch:

Oy

I've recently been reading (re-reading in the case of The Gunslinger) the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. It' s one set of his books that I had never been that enamoured with and I thought at the time I read The Gunslinger (I was in early teens) that it was boring but boy, was I wrong!!
Mind you, I'd originally thought Tolkien was snoozeville, not reading the LotR trilogy until I was 21. Again; proved wrong. Don't think I'd be able to read it a second time but I have to say, once I'd got into it, I enjoyed it.
Anyway, this doodle is of Oy, the 'Billy-bumbler'. Companion of Jake and part of the ka-tet that are searching for the Dark Tower:
