Update

I hate, hate, HATE my camera! If I get the focus right, I don't get the lighting right... AARGH!!!

Anyway, here's an update on the skulls. First initial paintwork completed, now it's a matter of building on the patterns I have in mind and then a varnish.

The Were-cow

Okay, so I'm laying on my back in bed, just sketching (as you do) when I suddenly realise that I couldn't remember what a cow looked like - I kid you not!. So the were-cow looks more like a sheep. Oh well.

In pencil again, 2b, 3b and a finger to smudge and blend.

I must say that I do prefer pencil to pen, paints and whatnot.

Skulls again

another request for the IOTA (the greenman collection), Mexican Day of the Dead skulls meets the greenman motif...

These are a few of the skulls that I made last week. I've lost two (the blue patterned skull and a pink, gilded skull) to my two teen neices. I used the girls as my market research group, I wanted to know what they thought of them and they seemed impressed by them and said that I should sell them through one of the local 'indie/alternative' shops in town. I'm also going to be making some skull-motif brooches next after I've completed work on the greenman/DotD skulls.

Jo-Jo the dogfaced boy

This is another piece for the A to Z, just a B&W piece as I can't open my inks at the moment (dried ink around the cap + weak hands = not a happy bunny). I'm quite pleased with it as it was done free-hand and while I was laying on my back in bed. It's on to D now, I'm currently sketching Francis Drake and his hellhounds for the next pic.
